Curación y Simbolismo

Los "Igargana"o las ceremonias de curación kunas, como el "Acuanusa" (Curación por medio de piedra lisa que sirve para bajar fiebre), "Kabur igar" (Camino o tratado del Picante) y muchos más tienen su propia escritura pictografica. Esta pictografía consiste de símbolos propios de los Kuna y son el texto del canto de curación. Además, en la vida cotidiana kuna, los animales y otros elementos de la naturaleza son símbolicos, indicando el bien, el mal, la fertilidad, la mentira, la muerte, y otros.

El arcoiris y la flor son símbolos de fertilidad en la cultura kuna. Las tortugas representan una larga vida, la fertilidad, el eroticismo, en el 4to nivel de la Madre Tierra las tortugas se consideran las mujeres más hermosas. El venado y el delfín son animales encargados de traer los bebés, como la cigüeña en la cultura occidental.

The "Igargana" or Kuna healing ceremonies such as the "Acuanusa" (Healing using a smooth stone to lower fevers), "Kabur Igar" (The Song of the Hot Pepper) and others have their own system of pictographic writing. These pictographs are made up of symbols that belong to the Kuna people and make up the lyrics of the healing chants. Also in Kuna daily life, animals and other elements of nature are symbolic, indicating good, evil, fertility, deceit and death, etc.

The rainbow and the flower are symbols of fertility in Kuna culture. Turtles represent long life, fertility, and eroticism and are considered to be the most beautiful women who live in the 4th level of Mother Earth. The deer and the dolphin are animals that bring babies, just as the stork does in western culture.
